Extraction of base metals with PC-88A
An aqueous solution containing ZnSO4, CoSO4 and NiSO4 was contacted in an
equal volume ratio with an extractant composed of 20% of PC-88A and 80% of
kerosene by volume at 50℃, a raffintate at every equilibrium was adjusted PH with
NH4OH added to the extractant prior to the extraction. The initial concentration of Zn,
Cu, Co or Ni in the aqueous solution was 2.5 g/l., respectively.

Fig.. 1 shows the extraction curves of metals under the different pH of raffinate.
As shown in this Fig, 1,PC-88A is excellent in separating Co from Ni and Zn from Cu.
